Denny Hamlin Injured

NASCAR.com is reporting that Denny Hamlin has torn his ACL, anterior cruciate ligament, in his left knee.

According to the article Denny was playing basketball on Friday, when the injury occured.

Denny is still planning on driving the whole season. And will have surgery at the end of the season.

With the Daytona 500 only three weeks away, it will be interesting to see how well he does. And just how long he will actually stay in the car. Especially this soon after the injury.

Good luck Denny, I think you are going to need it. But I guess, the one good thing is that, it is his left knee instead of his right.

  1. Too bad for Denny. He, for some reason, was the pick of a lot of fans to contend with JJ this year. I couldn't see that, and now we'll probably never know.

He just had surgery on the other knee last month as the result of a basketball injury. Might be time to hang up the hightops, Den.

  3. I would think he can still drive with out too much discomfort. A shot of cortisone could help probably.

  5. Tez I told my husband the exact thing tonight. At least until they get to the road courses in June, he will have plenty of time to get it well enough to use, with the add of a special boot.

  6. Larry only if NASCAR will approve the cortisone. You never know what NASCAR will approve of these days. One week it might be fine then the next who knows. LOL

  7. hmm, I wonder what's worse to 'repair'; torn ACL or a popped knee...I've experienced the latter and was fine 6 months after.
